Hi, When I saw the "new Database" postings I was eager to resume my research for our St. Louis connection of Goggin's. However, I made an error by not having reviewed my notes more carefully. I am looking for Edward John Goggin "laborer" and wife Bridget and firstborn daughter Mary. They are listed in the 1860, page 196 of the 3rd Ward of St. Louis. Edward is 26, Bridget, 28, both b in Ireland and 1 year old Mary, born in Missouri. Perhaps Mary's birth information will help provide more information. By the 1870, they are in Chicago with 4 other children. Another child, daughter Johanna, age 9 in 1870 was listed as born in Missouri also. At the time I began this research I lived in St. Louis but we are now in Oklahoma and away from all those wonderful resource centers. My error was an easy one to make. To date, the first born sons of this family have been reversals of Edward John or John Edward. I am working back from the burial data of a Calvary Cemetery lot I have from Chicago. Based on the 3rd Ward information in 1860, which Irish Church might be the closest to their address? Thanks for any assistance.
