I'm just curious enough to look back to see if I can find that story.----Jim ----- Original Message ----- From: G STOLTMAN<mailto:stopan@msn.com> To: mo-stlouis-metro<mailto:mo-stlouis-metro@rootsweb.com> Sent: Thursday, June 21, 2007 8:38 AM Subject: Re: [MO-STLOUIS-METRO] City of St. Louis -High andBiddleStreetSaloon SReif, Jim, et. al Has anyone heard of John Regina or the Regina family from StL. In May, 1928, my g-uncle Fred Shofstall a.k.a. Freddy Shaw, a bootlegger, gambler, "slugger," and burglar of some note in KCMO was ambushed and murdered by a StL crew of three - one of which was Regina. Old Freddie was able to shoot John Regina before he bit the dust and Regina died after staggering down an alleyway.
