Joyce, Hello. I don't know of a direct connection. I know there were Baders already in St. Louis when my Ggrandfather Matthais arrived in the US in 1854. However, that name has not come up with his direct kin - his sisters names [ the ones I know of ] were M. Crescentia, M. Agnes, Marianna, and Johanna. His Father was Johann Georg Baader, and his mother was Johanna Schmidt. There were several brothers, but there were also several of the children who died young in Germany. I don't know, for certain, if any other family members came to the US. I know at least one sister was married and remained in Germany. The fact that they ended up in St. Clair also suggests a connection very strongly to me. Matthais was very supportive of the Catholic church at Luebbering Missouri if that rings a bell. Could she be a sister who arrived earlier, or a cousin? I dont know.... yet. However, here is another little clue. The germans were big on repeating names. Johannes fathered Johann and Johann fathered Johanna. Matthias fathered Matthais junior... and he also fathered Henry Martin, who was father of Henry Martin Junior. With a Henrietta in the area, I'm suspecting a sister or cousin. However, I don't find anything on her on the web, so it may take some digging. My rough draft tree [with much to be filled in] is available to look at on rootsweb and Ancestry. They seem to have had some St. Clair connection as well. Any chance of a connection here?
