I found the other Lutheran church records I need listed in the Special Collectioins section of the SLCL's website, But, I do not find any mention of it on the St. Louis County Library's website. Bethany Lutheran Church is where many of my ancestors worshipped. It is now on Bellefontaine Road in Spanish Lake. I think it was closer to downtown at one time, but I am not sure. I called the church and was told no one there knows anything about the old records. When asked why I would want them, I mentioned my ancestors and genealogy research. The woman I spoke with laughed and said let the dead rest in peace. This surprised me greatly. I am not sure what to make of this. Does anyone have any ideas? Thanks, Bobbie
Do you mean Bethany UCC? They are on Bellefontaine Road. There is no Bethany Lutheran Church anymore. They closed a few years back. I would suggest contacting Concordia Historical Institute on the campus of Concordia Seminary in St. Louis.
