    1. [MO-STLOUIS-METRO] Google Maps (Re: [STLOUIS-MO] St. Louis Catholic Church locations map)

    3. If there is anyone reading this who knows about JavaScript and HTML, and is preferably familiar with the Google Maps API, please contact me about a map with locations for Catholic, Lutheran and UCC Churches. Not to take anything away from the map being offered by Mr. Vernon, but there is a way to accomplish the same thing in a way that is more accessible to everyone (e.g., not having to buy software) thanks to Google. I have already plotted all or most of the church locations, with permission from Ms. Hughes, and for a short time had these maps online, however I no longer have as much time for genealogy or my website. I think the bulk of the work is done. I am seeking someone who is better with JavaScript than I am who can take this data and get it back online, free for everyone via a personal website or on a RootsWeb Freepages account. Or maybe one of the libraries could host these pages. The thing I was having trouble with was getting the maps to work with both Firefox and IE. I ended up making duplicate maps for each browser, which was fine but not ideal for maintenance purposes. I am not sure why I was having problems because I was using examples of JavaScript that worked flawlessly. Dave PS - If someone can get these maps working, it would be easy to expand upon the idea by making maps for all of the area cemeteries or other landmarks.
