If there is anyone reading this who knows about JavaScript and HTML, and is preferably familiar with the Google Maps API, please contact me about a map with locations for Catholic, Lutheran and UCC Churches. Not to take anything away from the map being offered by Mr. Vernon, but there is a way to accomplish the same thing in a way that is more accessible to everyone (e.g., not having to buy software) thanks to Google. I have already plotted all or most of the church locations, with permission from Ms. Hughes, and for a short time had these maps online, however I no longer have as much time for genealogy or my website. I think the bulk of the work is done. I am seeking someone who is better with JavaScript than I am who can take this data and get it back online, free for everyone via a personal website or on a RootsWeb Freepages account. Or maybe one of the libraries could host these pages. The thing I was having trouble with was getting the maps to work with both Firefox and IE. I ended up making duplicate maps for each browser, which was fine but not ideal for maintenance purposes. I am not sure why I was having problems because I was using examples of JavaScript that worked flawlessly. Dave PS - If someone can get these maps working, it would be easy to expand upon the idea by making maps for all of the area cemeteries or other landmarks.
