Hello David, I graduated from St. Englebert's grade school in 1942 and was married from St. Engelbert's Church in 1952, so I was in the area for 10 years. The school was located on Carter Ave, we lived a block away at 4646 Carter and Marcus. The church was up a north a block and for the life of me can't remember the name of the street, but then again that was over 50 years ago. The church was beautiful, however in 1952, it was filled with scaffolding getting painted while I was getting married, during lent, so I had to get a dispensation etc. No flowers, no music -- more like going to a funeral, as friends told me later. Hope this helps you, Rosalie (Gillardi) Marquart, Lohmann ----- Original Message ----- From: "David Vernon" <dvernon4@msn.com> To: "St. Louis Metro " <MO-STLOUIS-METRO-L@rootsweb.com>; "St. Louis County Mail List " <MOSTLOUI-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Sunday, March 04, 2007 9:43 AM Subject: [MO-STLOUIS-METRO] McDonough Family Churches > List Members, > > > > I am trying to help another researcher find the churches where her ancestors > attended. I have narrowed down the localities to the area of St. Louis from > Holy Trinity to Our Lady of Perpetual Help to Holy Rosary to St. Engelbert > to St. Philip Neri to Nativity of our Lord. This is the area from east of > Fairgrounds Park to Calvary Cemetery. > > > > If someone from the list is going to the St. Louis County Library could they > please check the wall map there showing the Catholic Church locations?
