Fran, one of my cousins who doesn't have the internet, but we talk by phone had told be that she thought Hiram Shockley was in the StLouis area..."where the three rivers meet". I don't know anything about StLouis. But I do know there are rivers all over Missouri and that could be anywhere. James, I've looked at the records I have and find the following: Lafayette, County, Missouri Marriage Records, Book D Hiram Shockley to J.W.R. Moore, at the residence of Jesse Moore, 10 Jan. 1850, H.J.V. Reed, P. My Hiram Shockley also purchased land in Warsaw, Benton County, Missouri in 1857. He was also in Morgan, County. Later he migrated to Arkansas. So, I've answered my own question. I don't think we was in the St. Louis, Mo area. Barbara I near StL, the three rivers may be the Mississippi, Missouri and the Illinois. May have been near West Alton or Portage Des Soiux. However, this is not near Benton Co.
