The map could be used to determine what churches were in a neighborhood where ancestors lived. When I started my search for St. Louis ancestors I had no idea what parish churches they may have attended. I suspect others have the same problem. So far I have plotted about 60 churches from St. Louis on the map. Before I proceed to plot the remaining churches I want to see if this map works for St. Louis researchers. The map was created using Microsoft Streets & Trips. You can enter an address where your ancestors lived and the map will zoom to the location and display churches nearby. Using the features of Microsoft Streets & Trips you can zoom in or zoom out of the selected location. The church addresses have been extracted from different sources including, Guide to St. Louis Catholic Archdiocesan Parish Records by Christine Hughes and the St. Louis Catholic Archdiocese website. In order to use the searchable map you must have Microsoft Streets & Trips installed on your computer. The map can be accessed from my family history website. If you would like to test this new finding aid send me an email message and I will reply with a link to the web page.
