    1. Re: [MO-STLOUIS-METRO] Name changes
    2. I have 2 stories and one possible answer to the question of name changes. I am a travel agent and a client needed his passport to travel. He was concerned about his wife being a Canadian citizen and making sure her papers were correct. When he went to get his birth certificate, he found his name to be completely different. He was Everett Wayne and he had been going by Walter which was the name on his baptismal certificate. He had to get a new drivers license, apply for the passport, travel and when he returned he somehow got it changed back to Walter. Now the other one, my son and his girlfriend had a baby together. At the time I was doing genealogy and had found out that my son's surname had been mispelled for many years by the old priests in Louisiana. So, my son decided to give his son the correct name. His name was actually "Malorin" but the original spelling was "Mulherin". Now this little boy has the name Mulherin and we would like to get it changed back to "Malorin". I was told I had to go through a lawyer and do it through the county court. If this is true, and the system has not changed then you should be able to find the name changes at the county court where they either lived or were born. I suppose?? Any answers to this?
