McDonough is on the lilirish surnames list. This is the one I created for Irish surnames in St. Louis: http://home.earthlink.net/~lilirish/surnames.html http://www.stlgs.org/surnameResearchers.htm http://genealogyinstlouis.accessgenealogy.com/dlmemweb.htm Diane Shaw
Peggy, The name of the st. I was looking for was Shreve. The school address was Carter and Marcus. The last time we were in St. Louis we went by Carter & Marcus. There were 3 -- 2story flats at that time all with bars on the windows and doors. We lived in the the third one and it was sad to see. Maybe Holy Name on Grand Ave. (Not too far from the old Kemoll's, and close to the white water tower) What about Sacred Heart parish? Both had many Irish congregants. St. Englebert is now St. Elizabeth, Mother of John the Baptist Parish. I attended Mass there several years ago at which time it was still a beautiful, vibrant church. On the archdiocesan web site, St. Englebert is shown as Carter and Marcus but St. Elizabeth is shown as 4330 Shreve Ave. Peggy Kruse In a message dated 3/5/2007 5:28:22 A.M. Pat, have you seen Hank McKee's Ravolds of St Louis on Rootsweb? He is looking for the link between the St Louis bunch and his New York gang. Calvary has Ann RANOLD so it was a long time before I found that the correct spelling was Ravold. Michael R was one of the administrators of Thomas Crinnion, who died intestate. It took 7 years and 4 administrators to settle the estate. By that time, most of the heirs had died. The best part was that the last adminstrator gave the names and relationships of the final heirs. Do we have any connections? Pat, I have a ton on the RAVOLDS. I am attaching a GEDCOM of descendants from Mathieu Ravold. Are you connected to this family too? Mine is Nicholas Ravold m Ann Mary Lawless (niece of my 3rd great gf). Her 1st cousin Annie Hussey m Michael Ravold. The Papin connection is more recent. I rejected that Addison J. Whitman marriage as it had no verification. I want her to be the daughter of Pierrre Louis Vasquez and Narcisse Burdette Land. My hunch is that she was married to John Joseph Ravold but I need to dig for that information. I only have his death date from the Death Register so I don't even know how he fits in the Ravold family. I think I will read the sacramental register. Thank you for your input. I am trying to sort out the RAVOLD family. Emma RAVOLD was a widow living with her brother-in-law Leonard Pelt in 1900 Census. Also in the household was Celeste RAVOLD, daughter of Nicholas RAVOLD and Isis. This Emma is not the daughter of Nicholas ravold and Anne Lawless. Emma's obit gave her maiden name as VASQUEZ. She was the daughter of Pierre Louis Vasquez and Narcissa Land widow Ashcraft and grandaughter of Benito Vasquez and Julie PAPIN. To which RAVOLD was she married. I have a John Joseph RAVOLD who died 22 Jul 1897 but nothing else on him. Leonard's first wife was Catherine Mary Elizabeth RAVOLD, daughter of John P Ravold and Octavia Martin according to her father's will. She was the granddaughter of Jacques Martin and Catherine Eulalie Vasquez (daughter of Benito Vasquez and Julie Papin). Find your ancestors from the comfort of your own computer. The St. Louis Genealogical Society will host a free program on "Missouri Research from Home," presented by Pam Porter Saturday, March 10 at 10:00 a.m. at the St. Louis County Library Headquarters on Lindbergh, just south of Highway 40.
I forgot I had these. I have a 1937 and 1938 Webster Groves High School Year Book. I believe the 1938 book belonged to Romondo Davis and the 1937 belonged to Mary Jane Davis. I think I bought them at the South County Antique Mall on Tesson Ferry. Sharon Smith
