Fran, one of my cousins who doesn't have the internet, but we talk by phone had told be that she thought Hiram Shockley was in the StLouis area..."where the three rivers meet". I don't know anything about StLouis. But I do know there are rivers all over Missouri and that could be anywhere. James, I've looked at the records I have and find the following: Lafayette, County, Missouri Marriage Records, Book D Hiram Shockley to J.W.R. Moore, at the residence of Jesse Moore, 10 Jan. 1850, H.J.V. Reed, P. My Hiram Shockley also purchased land in Warsaw, Benton County, Missouri in 1857. He was also in Morgan, County. Later he migrated to Arkansas. So, I've answered my own question. I don't think we was in the St. Louis, Mo area. happy St. Pat's to you too Jim. WE had our corned beef and cabbage, Shamrock cookies, I can't go the green beer, so I fixed Grasshopper made with ice cream. It was good!!! I lived in KC for 20 years and miss going to their parade. I have never been down to the St. Louis one. My husband and I were just commenting that 10 or 15 years ago, we would still be going strong, just heading out of the downtown area to the neighborhood pubs!!!!! But here in our small town now, tis just another day!!! LOL. Hi Pat: I like your idea better. I'm not much on green beer either and brown is a little marginal too. My constant worry down here in New Mexico is that someone might try to slip the green chili in the pot just to be helpful. Another thing down here that strikes me a little strange are the number of green serapes that show up around this time. Oh well, Viva Santa Patricio anyway.----Jim ----- Original Message ----- From: Patricia Hammons<mailto:hammons7@windstream.net> To: mo-stlouis-metro@rootsweb.com<mailto:mo-stlouis-metro@rootsweb.com> Sent: Saturday, March 17, 2007 4:42 PM Subject: Re: [MO-STLOUIS-METRO] St Patrick happy St. Pat's to you too Jim. The map could be used to determine what churches were in a neighborhood where ancestors lived. When I started my search for St. Louis ancestors I had no idea what parish churches they may have attended. I suspect others have the same problem. So far I have plotted about 60 churches from St. Louis on the map. Before I proceed to plot the remaining churches I want to see if this map works for St. Louis researchers. The map was created using Microsoft Streets & Trips. You can enter an address where your ancestors lived and the map will zoom to the location and display churches nearby. Using the features of Microsoft Streets & Trips you can zoom in or zoom out of the selected location. The church addresses have been extracted from different sources including, Guide to St. Louis Catholic Archdiocesan Parish Records by Christine Hughes and the St. Louis Catholic Archdiocese website. In order to use the searchable map you must have Microsoft Streets & Trips installed on your computer. The map can be accessed from my family history website. Last Saturday, the enfare took place at their residence, three miles from Hillsboro, which was enjoyed by some fifty of their friends. The J.D. was represented by 'Squire SHEIBLE, who did ample justice to the eatibles and drinkables but some of the ladies say that he is too modest and bashful for a successful reporter, and wondered how he ever mustered enough courage to ask a lady to be his wife. This has always been a mystery to the 'Squire too. The leading spirit of the evening was a sister of the groom, who never tired in entertaining those present, while Willie DEER had control of the refreshments.
