Re: CongratulationsI have updated the page on the early history of American Indians of the St. Louis area, including pictures of some artifacts found in north St. Louis County (Ferguson-Florissant area). An essay on the evolving Indian policies of the Jefferson Administration. The French inhabitants created some snags in nearly obtained Louisiana territory. I have posted a few early sketches about the tribes of first contact. Bob, I agree with Ranee in Kirkwood (So anyway you want to present the material, Bob, is fine with me. But I agree the sooner the better! Just my five cents worth. Ranee in Kirkwood/St Louis) Jean
Hi, Pat Did you try to right click on the file to look at the 'properties'? I don't know if that would tell you who the file owner is or let you change it. Can you log on as administrator? Then you should have all the permissions. OldeNTQer
Hi I just took my pc in to service and the repairman backed up my FTM files. But all of a sudden my computer is working for a little bit and I need to do these files as a gedcom. my problem is the system will not let me do a ged com to CD it says: I do not have permission to open the file, see owner of file or administrator to obtain permission. Well it is after hours etc. I figure the repair person had to overide some password or something. is there a way for me to see who the file owner is or to change this. I am on Windows 98 and want to do a ged com from FTM Vers 8. I am going to put it on my new pc which is Windows xp and ftm2005 thanks pat

I am using a Mac OSX and I had no trouble accessing this site, though it is a bit limited. For example, they only have one year indexed (1875) for the St. Louis Globe Democrat. Dear Andrew, I tried the website and it didn't like Netscape 4 and 7, nor M/S Internet Explorer nor Mozilla. I am not computer literate. I can turn the computer on and off and find websites but I do not understand what this website is trying to tell me unless it can see the mess on my computer desk-something about the environment. Dear Rita, Try the St. Louis Public Library: http://www.slpl.lib.mo.us/libsrc/geneinfo.htm He is not listed on the St. Louis Post-Dispatch Index as far as I can see. Do you have the exact date of death or burial? If so, ask if they could look in the other papers. See following list. http://www.slpl.lib.mo.us/libsrc/newscoll.htm Georgia RITA BROEKER wrote: > Hi, could some one point me in the direction to find an obituary of > someone who died in > > 1880 and is buried at Holy Trinity. Georgia, No I don't have an exact date, just the year and cemetery. Well something might show up. I just found this website and thought everyone would like it. It is a free searchable database of a bunch of Missouri newspapers. It has articles from 1800's to almost the present. http://newspapers.umsystem.edu/Archive/skins/Missouri/navigator.asp?skin=Missouri&BP=OK&AW=1112721289734<http://newspapers.umsystem.edu/Archive/skins/Missouri/navigator.asp?skin=Missouri&BP=OK&AW=1112721289734>
Hi, could some one point me in the direction to find an obituary of someone who died in 1880 and is buried at Holy Trinity. Gerhard Broeker is the name. Thank you. Rita Broeker Missouri
Hi Everyone, Kathy Smith from St. Louis Public Library. Someone asked me to clarify this a bit more for the list. First, the parking lot is locate on the northwest corner of the intersection of 15th & Olive. That means it faces Olive and 15th streets, but it backs up to the Campbell House Museum. When you drive into the lot, the gate arm will go up. Park in the spaces numbered 32-44 (or spaces 58-60 if you have a disability permit). When you enter the library, stop at the circulation desk (there is one inside every entrance) and tell them you need a parking slip. They will give you the parking slip, which you keep. When you are ready to leave the library, you return the parking slip to the folks at the circulation desk, and they will give you a token to get out of the lot. The gate arm on the exit side does not go up without a token. I realize this seems like a bit of trouble. However, downtown parking is difficult for every downtown business or organization, and this ensures that the parking spaces we have available are used by library patrons only. Please email me if you have any further questions. Sincerely, Kathleen J. Smith Librarian History & Genealogy "Thanks. The instructions in the SL Genealogical Society newsletter made it seem as if you had to park somewhere first, get the parking slip and then go to the parking lot. Georgia" Do you have to park somewhere, go into the library and get an assigned spot and then go to the lot? Please answer on the list at: [email protected] Thanks!
