Heritage Quest is only available through libraries. Inquire at your local library. Godfrey Library allows you to become a "friend" for $35.00 if your local does not have it. If you live in California Carlsbad Public Library has HQ for cardholders. St Louis City and County have "friends" cards for a fee. I looked in heritage quest and found Chaney Tuttle age 58, born in Vermont. He is an Officer at the Missouri Democrat Newspaper and lives at the same residence as the Editor, the Editor's wife and child. His wife Abby is 47 and born in New York. They list a daughter Jessie age 10 born in Illinois. 1880 census is available through www.familysearch.org. I did not see them in the St. Louis 1900 census. Hope this helps, Donna Dasho
I am sending you a copy of the record but I found it on HeritageQuest and the names are Chaney & Abby Tuttle. Karen

we send our thoughts and prayers too thanks pat
I, too, will place the infant's name on our prayer chain at church. God bless. Carole
Hi Gloria, Will add little Marielle to my prayer list. Please keep the list informed as to her progress. Thanks. Mary
Greetings, Listers! One of our local volunteers, who has helped many through RAOGK, has great joy and also some concern with the birth of her new daughter Marielle (what a great name!) on 17 May 2005. The little girl is doing better but seems to have an infection. We all know how terrible that can be especially in someone so small. So I am asking all of you who are so inclined to include Linda and her daughter in your positive thoughts. Dad and two big sisters need some positive vibes too. Thank you. Gloria

Dear Gloria, I messed up on this relationship. Emma Jennings married Edmond Aloysius Bernoudy Garesché, the son of A. J. P. So Mimika was Edmond's grandmother; Lalite a cousin, etc. There is a Jennings descendant on this list who may be able to tell you who the other streets were named for..... Sorry I got my generations mixed up - I now have 3778 people in the database, so I hope I'm forgiven! Cordially, Betty Torno ----- Original Message ----- From: Betty Torno To: [email protected] Sent: Tuesday, May 24, 2005 8:40 PM Subject: Re: [MO-STLOUIS-METRO] Camp Halcyon, south of Holland, MI Dear Gloria, I gather it is named for my great great uncle, A. J. P. Garesché who married Emma Jennings. I don't think it's a big deal as they developed the land, so they named streets after family members. Several streets in the area have names for ladies in either the Jennings or the Garesché family. Mimika, for instance was A. J. P.'s mother - there is a corner of Mimika and Garesché - and that's my sister's name, too. So, when I Google "Garesché" for family information, lots of hits are for addresses on that street....... Hi Betty, Since you are the person to ask (I've been told) about the Garesche family, I'm curious after reading about Col. Julius Garesche and his tragic ending during the Civil War. Was he perhaps connected to the St. Louis Garesche family? Gayle Jennings Lang

So there is a Jennings connection also -- interesting. You probably know that Garesche and most of the streets were about three blocks long -- the City/Jennings line crossed the most western block. I lived on Lalite in the City and walked two blocks, crossing Goodfellow, to St. Louise de Marillac Church and School on Lalite in Jennings. I never heard it referred to as Jennings Heights, just Walnut Park and Jennings. Garesche is still a beautiful street...something special. Peggy Kruse In a message dated 5/25/2005 10:06:39 A.M. The reason some of the street were named for family members, as I understand it, (Mimika - his mother, Lalite - a cousin, Clara - I think an aunt, Lillian - not sure who) is that they developed the land - Jennings Heights, so they named the streets. The streets I'm not sure of were Jennings relatives and my map of Jennings Heights is buried in "stuff," so I can't get at it. Not like having a street named in your HONOR, like Lindbergh! I don't know anything about Camp Halcyon, Betty, but from 1952 (age 9) until 1965, I lived on Lalite in the Walnut Park area. The street to the north, beautiful with a parkway, was Garesche.
