Thank you for answering my rollcall. I don't think there is a connection to the Marquart line you have. My Broeker was catholic, I got his parents names from the church record at St.Francis Borgia, Washinton, Mo. Also I have contact with the grandaughter of John Martin Broeker's youngest son, and she states she always heard the story that the B roeker name was taken from the mothers line in Germany as the mother was to inherit property or such. Also the parents stayed in the old country.John Martin Broeker, older brother Gerhard emigrated in 1849. I can't find the shi p or place of arrival. We are attending a Broeker reunion in June 26 in Washington, so maybe someone in attendence will have a few clues to this mystery. Did I miss this e-mail about St. Charles Borromeo? My family and I always went there for midnight Mass at Christmas when I was a teenager. Then when our parish church, St. Roch's, was being renovated and was full of scaffolding, my husband and I were married at St. Charles Borromeo - Jan 30, 1960. So I have some interior shots, but in black and white, which I can Xerox - don't have a scanner. I miss that church.
