I am researching a Henry Mat(t)hews who was born in Texas in 1874. I found him listed as Mathews in Texas and on the 1900 census of Cherokee County, Ks as Matthews. It list his wife as Josie Jenkins from Tenn. b. 1874. Maybe there is some connection.
