Joseph Polk and Nancy Couch Polk, born in Tennesee, supposedly moved to St. Louis, Missouri prior to the 1850's and raised a family there. One of their sons, George Harvey Polk, was my great-grandfather, but I have not been able to verify that he ever lived in St. Louis or anywhere else in Missouri. I do know he lived in Arkansas, Misssissippi, and Alabama, and that he reportedly lived in Tennessee and Kentucky. George said that he worked for the St. Louis Fire Department in the 1870's. His father, Joseph, may have been a Methodist minister. Any information on this family line would be greatly appreciated. Kathy
