Hi all, I sent this message out earlier and thanks to Monica, I have found that this is not my Henry Harmon after all. Here is what she said: "The Russell Harmon on the 1860 Andrew Co., MO census wass the son of Daniel and Mandana (Reader)Harmon. He married Susan Johnson. According to an article in the Savannah Reporter in 1887, their son Henry was "declared to have unsound mind" and was committed to an institution in 1887. The Russell Harmon family was also on the 1870 Nodaway Co., MO census." The reason I have ruled them out is that my Henry was getting married in May of 1887. He had two kids and raised them. Sorry for the miscue. Karen I am looking for the family of Russel(l) HARMON before 1860. In 1860, he appeared on the Andrew Co. Census married to Susan and had children: William, age 7 Matilda, age 5 Henry, age 3 (or 2) Lucinda, age 9 mos. At that time, both Russel(l) and Susan were 34. He was born in VA and Susan was born in MO. He was a farmer and owned quite a sizeable property for the time...worth $8920. If you know of his parents or of Susan's parents, I would appreciate the help. I believe that Henry was my ggrandfather. Thank you! Karen HARMON Linton
