GIDEON HUTCHENS lived in Jackson County, MO , was first married to ELIZABETH BYNUM daughter of PUMPHREY BYNUM. His second marriage was to CLEOPATRA CORUM of Cooper and Clay Counties. She was the daughter of HARRISON CORUM of Cooper County. Sometime between 1847 and 1860 they went to California by wagon and were in Grass Valley, CA on the 1860 census. HARRISON CORUM'S older daughter NANCY CORUM was married to ANDREW RAGSDALE and is also listed on census of 1860 at Grass Valley, CA. Would like to correspond with anyone researching these people.
