This are the surnames of Missouri that I am researching and have info on, BARNHILL, NIBARGER, BRICKEY, BUNCH, FORD, HANSFORD, HINES, HENDRICKSON, HICKS, HUDGENS, JOHNSON, KNEIP, LAKE, LONG, WARE, VAUGHAN, JOHNSTON, PFISTER, YOUNG, and BOON. The counties with these surnames are Carroll, Caldwell, Camden, Pulaski, Miller, Wright, Reynolds, Jefferson, Franklin, St. Louis County, Benton, Ralls, Polk, Hickory, Livingston, and Cooper. I was born and raised in St. Louis County, but left Missouri in 1975. I met my husband, Craig, and settled in South Carolina. Craig was born in California, but his mother was born in Missouri. So Craig and I have many ties to Missouri. Some of these surnames have been hard to trace, but we do have some traced back to Scotland, Ireland, Germany, and France. I will be glad to share what I have on these surnames. Libby (Hines) Stewart
Vi, Sorry, my Vaughan line came out of Virginia to Cooper County, Missouri, then to Miller County. The only other surname connected to my Vaughan line right now, is Johnson/Johnston out of Kentucky. Hello all! I have a new web site for my Missouri family and would love it if you would visit and see if we can make a connection. Mostly the research centers on Ripley County and Butler County. Thank you for your time, April in Washington state
Hi Everyone, This is my needle in the hay stack! W.H. LANE my GGgrandfather from MO. Where? Word of mouth only sounded like Har-rum Har-ram. He either was born there or lived there. He had two children that I know of Minnie Elzora LANE and William Washington LANE. Both children were born middle to late 1800's. Minnie married James P. MATTHEWS in 1911 age 15 in White Co,Ark. and her father only signed as W.H. LANE. Before that I was told his name was Henry, so I think he went by Henry. Minnie is my Ggrandmother who died aprox 1918 age 20/22. So not much was ever passed down as far as info on my LANE side. Any info at all is welcome. Thank You, Theresa Rogers Griffiths Morocco2000@juno.com

Please help me find my Great Grandfather's parents and birthplace. Benjamin Franklin Daniel was born on May 4, 1863. I'm not sure where. I think Iowa but more likely Missouri. He married Margaret Ann Smith on August 23, 1885 and she was born January 21, 1864 in Decatur Co. Iowa. They had four children, all born in Decatur Co. They were Nettie Pearl, William Benjamin, Charles Luther, and Sarah Ann. Benjamin F. might have had a sister Mollie who's husband's name was Brad Cairel or Correl. Mollie had a son and a daughter, Willa. Benjamin F. had two nieces, Katherine Austin and Bess. Bess was a diatician at a college in Eugene or Corvalles. Great Grandpa died here in Nebraska and is buried with his wife in the Purdum Cemetery at Purdum, NE. They moved out of Iowa in 1907 to Dundy Co. NE. In 1911 they moved to Cherry Co. NE where they lived until 1940 when she passed and 1944 when he passed. He added the "s" to our name sometime after their children were born. Thank you for your time. I am searching for "G. B. KEY" whom I believe is my great-grandfather's father. G. B. is known to have been in Chillicothe as an adult, as we have a portrait photograph from "Dunlap Studio" in Chillicothe, which is signed on the back "G.B. Key." He was born about 1830. We know my great-grandfather, WILLIAM "Bill" KEY, was born Feb 9, 1850, in Chillicothe. I can find no written record on G. B. KEY or of William's mother. William changed the spelling of KEY to KEE when he was a boy. He told the family that his teacher told him that KEY was a tool that opened a door and not a name - and that he should spell the name with a double e instead of a y. William carried on the family name as KEE. _____________________ I am also looking for my LAXTON family. My grandfather, CHARLES EDWARD LAXTON, said he was born in "Houston." He was born on February 27, 1873. Family members always thought it was Houston, TX state, but other family members said he was born in Missouri. Looking on a map, I found a Houston, MO, in none other than Texas County! I think this may be the answer to the dilemma. Family information says that Charles Edward Laxton's father had the same name. His mother was JENNIE HART LAXTON. Jennie and Charles Edward Laxton, Sr., had two other boys names Stewart/Stuart and James. I have no birth dates or places for Charles Edward, Sr., Jennie Hart, or their sons. _____________________ I will be very grateful for any help with these two families. Thank you, Dean Laxton. djlaxton@atnet.net

Hello, I am looking for the family of John Nichols. He was listed in the 1880 census in Greene Co, Arkansas with the following children: John Nichols age 60 (himself) born in NC Fanny age 15 born in Missouri (about 1864 / 65 ) Harriett age 14 born in Missouri (about 1865 / 66 ) Powell (?) age 11 born in Missouri (about 1868 / 69 ) Pheny age 8 born in Missouri (about 1871 / 72 ) So they should have been in Missouri in 1870 census, they mother was not there altho it showed John as married. It did show that the mother was born in Virginia. I am trying desperately to find them. I do not know a county to ask for. I am just hoping someone will know about them. There may have been older adult children considering the age of John. I would appreciate ANY help. Thanks, Charlene Peel in California
