GIDEON HUTCHENS lived in Jackson County, MO , was first married to ELIZABETH BYNUM daughter of PUMPHREY BYNUM. His second marriage was to CLEOPATRA CORUM of Cooper and Clay Counties. She was the daughter of HARRISON CORUM of Cooper County. Sometime between 1847 and 1860 they went to California by wagon and were in Grass Valley, CA on the 1860 census. HARRISON CORUM'S older daughter NANCY CORUM was married to ANDREW RAGSDALE and is also listed on census of 1860 at Grass Valley, CA. Would like to correspond with anyone researching these people. I started looking for information about my grandfather Ludwig Paul PECHMANN (known as Paul Louis PECHMANN/PECKMAN) and his cousin David Franz PECHMANN who left Anhalt, Germany to go to America in 1908. They moved on to Australia in 1912 where my grandfather settled but it is believed that Franz returned to the US after WW1 A friend found my grandfather in the 1910 census staying with his cousin Richard PECHMANN in St Louis, Missouri. But I have no idea about Richard's connection to the German family. After Franz returned to America he had a son Peter. This Peter returned to the village in Germany in WW2 and his son (could be another Peter) returned to the US after WW2.
