From: b.fazekas@att.net [mailto:b.fazekas@att.net] To: MO-ROLLCALL-L@rootsweb.com Subject: Woebeking Family of St. Louis I am researching the Woebeking Family I found Frederick( b. 1852 in Germany) and Caroline( b. 1852 in Prussia) in the 1890 St. Louis Directory. They had a grocery store at 1524 College Avenue, St. Louis, MO. and lived in the rear part of the building. Two daughters: Annie b. 1877 in Pittsburgh, PA Mary b. 1879 in Pittsburgh Frederick & his brother Henry came to America on the Ship Hansa on October 24, 1868. Henry died shortly after he married in 1872. Willing to share what I have found. Shirley Wilson Fazekas
The names I am researching in Missouri: MORRIS - perhaps Benton County. There is a Smith Morris that patented land in Benton Co. Might be my great grandfather. Some of them moved on to Bakersfield, MO and some on to Fulton Co., AR. McMILLEN [and other spellings] - later moved on to Arkansas (I think) ROARK - later moved to Arkansas GILLESPIE WOOLDRIDGE HIGHFIELD or HIGHFILL - Dallas County Catherine
I am trying to locate information about my gg grandfather who is listed in the 1880, Castor Township, Stoddard Co., Mo. I have looked at information in Mo. about the townships and can't seem to find where Castor township was located in 1880. My gg grandfather was Starling Tucker HESTERLY, and arrived in Stoddard Co. around 1875, from Lawrence Co., Tn. Without this information I won't be able to locate a tax or deed record, if such exists for the Castor TWP. Any information would be greatly appreciated. Louise Cooper Haase Georgia
Many thanks to Marilyn Orr, Edith Fisher, Peggy Haynie & Mike Edwards for their emails answering my question about this list. Louise Cooper Haase Georgia
