Pocahontas Star Herald September 26, 2002 Obituaries BESSIE LORINE BENNETT, 84, of Myrtle, Mo., died Monday, Sept. 16, 2002, in West Plains, Mo. She was a daughter of the late Bedford F. Mitchell and Martha M. Brewer Mitchell. She was preceded in death by one son, Russell Bennett; one great-grandson, Joshua Cline; two brothers, Everett and Bedford Mitchell; and five sisters, Willie Cypret, Pearl Cantrell, Annie Newman, Vada Cantrell and Jessie Dunkin. Surivors include her husband, Rufford Bennett of Myrtle; five sons, Kendall Bennett and B.W. Bennett of Pocahontas, Neal Bennett of Bloomindale, Ga., Clifton Bennett of Couch, Mo., and Dean Bennett of Myrtle; four daughters, Glenda Upton of Myrtle, Bessie Ritchey of Ravenden, Virginia White of Mill, Ky., and Jeneta Turner of Thayer, Mo.; two sisters, Bertha England and Gertrude Sorrell, both of Myrtle. Thirty grandchildren and 27 great-grandchildren also survive. Funeral services were held Friday at Carter Funeral Home Chapel in Thayer with Bros. Howard Huddle and John McFarlen o! fficiating. Burial followed in Walnut Grove Cemtery at Elm Store. ___________________ BIRDIE SWINDLE, 75, of Doniphan, Mo., died Sept. 11, 2002, at Ripley County Hospital in Doniphan. She was born May 16, 1927, a daughter of the late William and Jessie Lena Hubble Little. She was a fomer resident of Middlebrook. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by seven brothers, Johnny, Charles, Jackie, Jim, Joe, Bill and Lonnie Little. Survivors include her husband, Henry E. Swindle of Doniphan; one daughter, Debbie Littles of Doniphan; two sons, Thomas Swindle and Dennis Swindle of Doniphan; five sisters, Mary Huskey of Jacksonville, N.C., Alice Matthews of Panama City Beach, Fla., Imogene Burns of Mammoth Spring, Linda Nossett of Corning, Janie Craft of Quilan, Mo.; three brothers, Marshall, Owen, and Jerry Little, all of McDougla; and nine grandchildren. Funeral services were held Sept. 21 at First Baptist Church in Doniphan with Rev. Wad Rogers officiating. Burial followed in Doniphan Cemetery. ____________
