Hey all you Randolph Co., AR people!! I recall something different about the 1870 Census.. Not all was taken, or something.. What was it? I am looking for the 1870 Randolph Co., AR Census for these families: Wm. H. MARIOTT [could be spelled Merritt], with wife Matilda As well as: Walter BELLAH, age 32, with his wife Melinda.. I am also needing the 1900 Randolph Co., AR Census for Walter and Melinda.. I believe that there are his 2 granddaughters in the household during this time. Thanks for your help, Lanita

Lanita, Randolph County Arkansas 1870 census list William Meriott age 55 and wife Matilda age 55 and son William age 15. They are residing in Roanoke Twp. He is listed as a carpenter. Walter Bellah age 32, wife Malinda age 32 , son Samuel 14, son Leonard 10, dau Rhoda 15, dau T A 2, and dau M L age 4. The family is listed in Roanoke Twp. Randolph Co 1870 census is incomplete. Only 4 townships were enumerated. (thanks to the carpetbaggers) You can only imagine how many folks did not get counted that census year and what a pain it has caused for so many Randolph County researchers. The enumerated townships were: Current River, Little Black, Demun and Roanoke.
