    3. History listers, I'm passing this along just in case any of you have family in this cemetery in Douglas Co., MO. Obviously, it hasn't seen a clean-up in a long time and has taken some doing to get permission. I have not personally been to this cemetery. Please note that if you want to make contact please do so directly to the Debbie Hall whose email is listed at the bottom. (someone else had posted the message for her, as she wasn't a lister of MODOUGLA) I know that there has been Barnes surname discussions on MO-OREGON-HISTORY before but don't have a clue whether they are connected to this cemetery name or not. Hopefully, the posting will help someone! Thanks for reading. Beth Message: 1> Date: Sat, 11 Aug 2007 02:06:56 GMT> From: "K.L. Kristi> I have finally got the o.k. from Cecil Huff to clean up the Elam Barnes Cemetery (this cemetery is located in Campbell Township, on the Bucks and Spurs Ranch). This is the cemetery where Randolph Lawrence is buried. There are many people buried in this cemetery. The cemetery is in really bad shape. The cleanup is very extensive. Cecil will not let them pile the brush. Everything has to be chipped and hauled away. The cost of the cleanup will be $3500. This may seem like alot but they will be there for at least five days.<?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" />I am asking any one who is interested to donate money toward the clean up of the cemetery. We will be forming a cemetery committee at the reunion this year so that we can keep the cemetery in good shape for future generations. Please contact me if you are interested in helping. They are going to start the!> cleanup as soon as I can get the money together. Hopefully we can get it done fairly quick. This is a slow time for Southern Construction, which is the company that will be doing the work. They have donated all their equipment for this job, we are j! ust paying for the men who are doing the work. This is a huge savings, and a very wonderful thing that Southern has agreed to do. If we wait too long they won't be able to get to it. Please email me soon and let me know... Thank you so much Debbie Hall thwardn@yahoo.com
