Hello Kara (and the rest), My earliest McKinney on record is Henry, born around 1764 probably in North Carolina, but we have been unable to find much about his early life. He died in Cole County, Missouri in 1836. His children were mostly born in Campbell County, Tennessee, and the family settled in Cole County and then moved on to Texas County, MO. I am descended from his son James William, then Calvin Wayne, then James Wayne, whose daughter Leone Almira was my maternal grandmother. James Wayne and wife Sarah Elizabeth J. Cook (caughter of Daniel Cook and Clarinda Elmira Pratt) are both buried in the old Eminence Cemetery in Shannon County. Do we have a connection? All the best, Ron > I have McKinney's in my line.
