Kara, I wish I could tell you who my SIMMONS are. All I know is that my great grandmother was Mary SIMMONS. Her husband called her Lou. We think she was from Oregon County. She was born about 1865, and she married Huston LAWSON in 1881 in Clay County, Arkansas. Either they were divorced, or he died, because she married my grandfather, William Henry TARLTON in 1887. My grandmother said that Mary was raised by a family named BUCHANAN, but we aren't certain about that. My grandmother mentioned two uncles, Abe SIMMONS and Beau SIMMONS. They could possible have been great uncles. My great grandfather, William Henry TARLTON, was the son of Mary Ann (Polly) BUCHANAN. She was born in 1840. I think that Polly was the daughter of David and Elizabeth BUCHANAN. After Polly's death, my great grandfather and some of his siblings lived with her brother, David BUCHANAN in Oregon County. Does any of this sound familiar to you?
