Kara - where does your BROOKS line come from? My BROOKS' came from Prince Edward/Lunenburg/Charlotte Co.'s in Virginia to Calloway Co, KY to Ripley Co, MO. We already know we are connected on my maternal side. Wouldn't it be something if we connected on my paternal line, too? Hi Peggy! My Brooks line is a Step or Half. My G Grandpa William Ingram Sammons married Josephine Brooks in 1884 Aug 23, Randolph Co. Ark. This was his second wife. He first married Maranda J. Stout in 1879 she died along w/ their baby Emma, in 1880. William and Josie had 8 children of whom my Grandpa (Dewey Sammons) lived w/ and worked for at times growing up and when he was older. Josephine b.1853 Randolph Co. Ark. d.abt 1897 Randolph Co. Ark. her parents were Joseph Brooks b. abt 1791 NC his wife was named Martha (no last name). b. abt 1799 d.? for both. I don't know if this line went to KY or not. I have all of their children but nothing on Joseph and Martha. I know Josephine had a brother named Ransom Brooks, I've seen him several different times in various records in Randolph Co. Ark. Let me know if this connects too! We need a marriage lookup for Elvie Wesley Owen 'Ted' Hackworth between 1926-1930. On the 1930 census, his wife's name looks like Golar M. They are both 19 - so the marriage probably took place in 1928 or 1929. Thanks for any help. Ann
