Hi Peggy, What is your Barton connection? This is one of my primary surnames in Oregon Co. Carlene Missouri Ozarks
Hi Carlene, I think you and I have discussed it before and couldn't find a connection. Sarah Jane BARTON (26 JAN 1858-13 NOV 1938) married Napoleon Thomas BROOKS on 12 AUG 1878 in Ripley County. I have been unable to trace beyond Sarah's parents. Hope someone can help! 1860 Census, Ripley County, Missouri, Johnson Twp, p 445, Little Black P.O., 3d August, 1860: 3 287 277 Barton, J.W. 20 M TN Farmer -- 200 4 287 277 Barton, Rebecca 22 F TN Domestic 5 287 277 Barton, Sarah 2 F MO 1870 Census, Ripley County, Missouri, Johnson Twp, Doniphan P.O., p 660, 12th July, 1870: 29 415 415 Barton, J W 30 M W TN Farmer TN 100 75 30 415 415 Barton, Rebec. 30 F W TN Housekeeper 31 415 415 Barton, Sarah 12 F W MO 32 415 415 Barton, Geo W 4 M W MO 33 415 415 Barton, Joseph 1 M W MO 12 year old brother Joseph Barton was living as an orphan in the household of Harrison Davis in the 1880 census.
