Anybody on this list ever been to the MO State Archives in Jeff City? I'm thinking about a trip there but not sure it is really necessary... 1. WHY would I [or anyone else] need to go if I have the info and documentation from my main county[ies] in MO? What am I missing out on? Lanita

She is not listed in the Oregon County Cemetery book listing for CottonCreek Cemetery. The only Hands are these: Hand, John 1884-1962 Hand, Lizzie 1889-1957 Gene At 08:02 PM 6/9/2007, you wrote: >Hello I am kind of new at mailing list and since you are planing a trip to the Capital of Missouri and I live in California maybe you can give or know someone who can give me some advice on how to find my Great-Grandmother who id buried in Cotton Creek Cem in Jobe Oregon Co Missouri her name is Julia Ann (McGeHee) Hand she died between 1910 and 1915 in Jobe Oregon Co acording to what I have in frount of me any hel with this would be Great!!! Lanita, I've been there...two years ago. If you go remember that they won't let you take much inside with you. You have to put your things in a locker. Give them a call to see what the rules are and the parking is pretty tight too. If I remember correctly, they won't let you do your own copying and there is a time restraint on copies. They have a lot of books and lots of microfilm. I found things that I have not found anywhere else. Lanita, I've been to the State Archives only once. It's a very nice facility. Don't remember a lot about their holdings. I've found it most useful as a source of Civil War military records for Missouri units (particularly the Missouri State Guard).
