    1. [MO-OREGON-HISTORY] Jobe - Holt (one of my Brick Walls)
    2. Ann (Jobe) Brown
    3. Well I finally found something to break one of my small brick walls. Had been wandering what had happened to William Holt who married Hester Ann Jobe January 8, 1871 Oregon Co., Missouri. I knew he was alive in 1895. First background: -William Hold is on the 1850 Greene Co., MO and 1860 Greene Co., MO census with his parents who were Larkin L. Holtl and Rachel (Taylor) --Hester Ann Jobe is on the 1860 and 1870 ORegon Co., MO census (Jobe Twp) with her parents, Elijah Jobe and Mary M. (Parrack) In the mid 1870's, she came to Texas with her parents and my great grandpa, Caleb Jobe (who had been raised by HER PARENTS). Caleb Jobe had married Martha Emily Brewer December 17, 1868 Oregon Co., MO., d/o John R. Brewer and Cynthia Hall. One of Caleb wife's brother, John W. 'Johnnie' Brewer married Mary Alice 'Aly' Holt, a sister to William Holt. After this census, I had lost them 1880 -Cooke Co., Texas, Precient 3, page 291C William Holt, head of household, married, age 31, b. MO, parents both born AL, farmer Ann Holt, wife, married, age 27, b. MO, father b. AR, mother b. MO Mary Holt, dau, single, age 6, b. MO, parents both born MO Elisha Job, other, single, age 17, b. AR *Listed as Ann with her husband, father, brother and sister. Note: The last entry, Elisha Job, age 55, had a line drawn through his name with the initials BH written on the left margin! Upon closer examination of this census, there were several in the Co., who also had this line and initials. I had a friend check at the Clayton Library in Houston for the Mortality Schedule and to see if they could find out anything. His reply was: "Ann, I did find some information. The main thing is that Elijah Jobe did die before the census and is in the mortality sked. Also the BH was the Enumerator's initials after realizing the mistake." --------- Well I FOUND THEM AGAIN - just now. 1900 -Logan Co., AR, Johnson, District 54, stamped page 83, sheet 4a, #52-53 (enuemrated June 7, 1900) William Holt head w m Dec 1849 age 50 m-29 yrs MO AL AL farmer Hester A. wife f w Mar 1852 age 48 m-29 yrs MO MO MO (3 children 1 living) ------ 1910 -Bryan Co., OK, Twp 3, District 19, Sheet 4b, #63-65 (enuemrated April 25, 1910) William P. Now to find our who Mary 'Madie' 'Madie" was married to before and what happened to these children and where they are buried. But we have a lead now and we also know William's middle initial is a P. - so thought that I would pass it along. Still trying to find William P. Holt in 1870.
