Lanita, Wow, you're being tough this time. I have just found out that my ROACH and Bearden family moved to Oregon Co, MO and Fulton Co., AR. I don't have first names yet. Are there ROACH names listed in the Oregon County History book? I think the people showed up in the 1870s or early 1880s. They came from Illinois. I already have the Bearden marriages that you found before, but wonder if there are any ROACH marriages. No need to take time to list them, just a yes or no on either. I can get the book listings later. Yes, you can ignore this if you want, but maybe somebody would be interested or related to these families. Also, one surname and request per person, please, until all have had a chance. I have these resources: Census throughout U.S. 1790-1880; 1900-1930 Oregon Co. Cemeteries Book Oregon Co. History Book Oregon Co. Marriage listings for years 1845-1890 I will NOT look up ALL SMITHS, etc., so those requests will be ignored. Please be specific and if you are needing a census lookup, the birth year and approx. location of those you are trying to find would help cypher down the possibles. Okay, who needs a lookup? Yes, there are some ROACHs in the Oregon Co. History Book. Roach Family Roach, J.K. Roach, Jesse B Roach, Madge May Combs Roach, William no ROACH bio listed. Lanita
Roach, James Monroe to Davis, Sarah; 1875 Carrigan, Phillip to Roach, Julia; 1884 Trantham, C.B. to Roach, Sarah J.; 1877 Cooly, James Roark/Roach, Elizabeth; 1866 Sorry, Pat, if you think I'm being tough. I just don't have time to go through all the SMITHS in ten buck two, ID in 1920 census. Everything else I can help you unless there's too many to list in the cemeteries or History Book. Hope this helps! Lanita I think my family tree is a few branches short of full bloom.
Lanita, Just ribbin' you a little. I know how generous you have been with research for me and I really appreciate it. I have only recently started researching the Roach family-grandparents and mother of Mary Jane Bearden Shurron; my father's grandmother. It just didn't click that these people actually all moved to either Oregon County or northern Arkansas. I knew that Julia Ann Roach Bearden's husband died and she brought the kids to Oregon County, but didn't know that her brother and widowed mother were already down there. Now I find that there was a lot of family there. Wish I could fall into history of the Shurron people so easily. Thanks again for the help.
