1. James BELLAH. Born in 1800 est. in Tennessee. On 10 Jul 1821 when James was 21, he married Eleandor "Nellie" HUDSON, daughter of Edward D. HUDSON & Mary Ann WHEAT, in Randoph Co. AR. Born on 14 Apr 1793 in Green County, TN. Eleandor "Nellie" died in Springville, Ventura Co., CA, on 26 Feb 1882; she was 88. They had the following children: 2 i. Samuel (1820-) 3 ii. Leonard (1800-)..should this be 1820? 4 iii. Walter SR (1806-) should this be 1826? 5 iv. Elizabeth (1802-) should this be 1822? 6 v. Nathan (1805-) should this be 1825? There is obviously a problem here because James can't have been born in 1800, and fathered a child at the age of 5!! I know that Arkansas water is GREAT, but, can it really do the supernatural? I have found no proof when James BELLAH was born, but... James BELLAH married first to Mary ALLEN in Tennessee. They had five children: Sarah BELLAH HUDSON, 14 APR 1806-29 FEB 1884; Susannah BELLAH STANDLEE, 16 JAN 1808-1 JAN 1856; John D BELLAH, ??; Allen BELLAH, 7 JAN 1814-6 APR 1872; Nancy G BELLAH HUDSON, 6 JUN 1818-6 JUN 1873. Mary ALLEN was killed by a tree falling on the wagon during a storm while enroute to Arkansas from Tennessee. James BELLAH married second to Eleanor "Nellie" "Ellen" HUDSON. They had four children: Samuel BELLAH, 12 MAY 1822-7 JUL 1882; Cyrus BELLAH, 6 OCT 1823-7 JAN 1907; Reuben Alexander BELLAH, 8 FEB 1825-(killed in Civil War); Martha "Patsy" BELLAH WHITE, 19 JUN 1827-??. After James' death, James Harris HUDSON (husband of Sarah BELLAH) became the guardian of minors Allen and Nancy; Eleanor HUDSON married Henry WHITE, Sr on 10 JAN 1835 (Lawrence Co Marriage Book A1, p 47) and he was named guardian of HER BELLAH children. Samuel and Patsy both married in Randolph Co; Cyrus married in Ripley Co. After Henry's death, Eleanor and her children went to California. As you can see, none of the children listed below belong to James and Nellie. James was the brother of my 3rd ggrandfather, (believed to be named Leonard BELLAH.) This (Leonard?) was the father of Elizabeth and Nathan. There is a great deal of documentation on this family on the Bellah website. See "History of the Hudson Family" written in 1912 by Rev. John HUDSON, son of James Harris HUDSON and Sarah BELLAH. Also, there are postings from the family bible of Cyrus & Mariah WYMAN BELLAH.
