Mike, Being the researcher you are I'm sure what I'm sending will be nothing new to you. However, A Reminiscent History of the Ozark Region gives family sketches. From reading the report on George W. COUCH and Judge Alfred Perry COUCH, they were the sons of Simpson Couch and the grandsons of Lindley Couch. The article states, " ...descended from substantial Virgina stock, for in that state his father and grandfather were born. The family afterward moved to North Carolina, thence to South Carolina, from there to Tennessee, Kentucky, Illinois and Missouri, in which state the grandfather, Lindley Couch, passed the closing scenes fo his life,..." Doris, Can you tell me more about this "History of the Ozark Region" report? Is it available to purchase from Oregon County Historical Society? Thanks, Joan Griffin Rusk -----Owith the word 'unsubscribe' without the quotes in the subject and the body of the message
Joan, This book is in the OCGS library and I have a copy as well. It must have been originally published in early 1900's, at least. This copy is by Ramfre Press, Cape Girardeau, MO 63701 and was reprinted in 1976. It is indexed and seems to cover southern Missouri counties and northern Arkansas. I'll check the index for any name you are interested in.
