Below is an email I received today from David Couch (reprinted with his permission). The 1880 census he refers to is for Jobe Township: William Couch 22 MO Farming KY KY Ann M. wife 18 MO Keeping House MO MO Cyntha A. dau. 1 MO MO MO I've never known of a Couch in Oregon Co. who wasn't in some way connectd to our Moses/Lindley/Simpson clan, but currently don't have this one in my FTM. Can anyone on the List help David & me figure out where this William Couch belongs? Any help greatly appreciated. Carlene Missouri Ozarks My G grandfather is William Couch. I first found him on the 1910 census in Clay County Arkansas with my grandfather Alfred. William was listed as a an widower. My grandfather, who passed away in 1964, did not know he had any siblings. My research indicates otherwise. William is also listed on the 1900 Clay County Arkansas census but they misspelled his last name as "Kouch." I believe this is the same William Couch who is listed on the 1880 census in Oregon County Missouri. The 1880 Oregon County census listed one child Cynthia A and his wife Ann M. The 1900 census list several children along with my grandfather who is listed as baby. Those names are Seburn, Edward and Rufus. All the birthdates match up. I have been stuck here for a while. I took the DNA test and did not match anyone. My results are posted on the Couch web page. Please let me know what you think. David.
