In the Oregon Co. Marriage books for 1845-1890, there are these: Hand, G.R. to Miller, Rutha Jaine Scott, M.E. to Hand, Amanda L. Barton, William J. to Hand, Missouri E. There was this one in the probate packets in Oregon Co., but after more research, this is a JASPER E. HAND that is found in the 1880 Oregon Co. Census.. the Amanda is his wife. Hand, J. E. info in packet #1548 Admin: Amanda Hand Filed: 14 Feb 1881 The above HAND brides were daughters of this Jasper HAND. The Jasper HAND family are the only HANDs listed in 1880 Oregon Co. Census.. I checked 1870 Oregon Co. Census, and they are not there.. Since there were several HAND families in 1900, my suspicions are that they are all descendants of this Jasper.
