    3. I know that it hasn't been that long since we had a roll call, but we have a few new members that I am just sure some of you will be interested in contacting! Please state your SURNAMES for the area, and any additional info you wish. If you have a brick wall, or something in particular that you are searching for, state that too. If you have a website, feel free to post that as well. My direct line of SURNAMES as well as surnames who are connected and I have info on, in this area are: ALLEN, ALLISON, ARNOLD, BELLAH, BIRCHETT, BENNETT, BEASON, COUCH, DETHROW, DAVIS [2 lines], DUBOISE, FERRELL [FERRILL], HAYS, JUSTICE, MARIOTT, McWILLIAMS, NETTLES, PRINCE, RIMMER, SHIELDS, STOGSDILL, SCONCE, STUBBLEFIELD, and TAYLOR. If you know of someone who married into one of these families, post on the list. Perhaps we can put all of our tidbits together and actually make some headway. As always, if you need a census lookup for ANYWHERE, or a lookup for Oregon Co., let me know. Be glad to help! The ROLL CALL will end on Friday at 10pm, CST. Lanita List Manager ps: Please remember to put all your SURNAMES in CAPS, so that they are easily scanned.

    3. Todd, Can you give me the web site address/es for the Creek County, OK information, especially the Salpulpa newspaper? You had asked me about some of my Oregon co. relations being in Oklahoma and I think Salpulpa was where they were in the 1920s. They didn't stay there though. They returned to Oregon Co. MO when they were sued by family members. 3. Well; I am back on the list after over a year off. No one else was ever researching my families and I am hoping that has changed! My main families of interest are: Hankins, Elledge, Briggs, Muse, Kyle, and Higginbotham. If any of the Roberts in the county tie to the brothers from Tennesse that came to MO, Jake who went to Taney, later Christian Co. and William who went to Texas Co., then we are related. My great-grandad may have ridden with the James Gang, William Moses Hankins, who married Martha Ellen "Mattie" Elledge, in West Plains, in 1887. He new the back way out of Merramac Caverns, and other things about the gang. Now, there are several Elledge and Hankins folks that married other Howell Co. family members. Mybe some of you connect to these folks. William J. "Jess" Raymond married Alice Hankins. Ellen Ball Dixon married Joe Hankins. Lewis Renfro married Mary Jane Hankins. Earl Galloway married Minnie Hankins. I think he may connect to James Richard Galloway and wife Sarah Alice, but have no proof. Nov Galloway, daughter of James Richard and Sarah Alice G. married George Dixon Elledge. THis same George was born in Howell Co. and I wonder if he was named for the Dixon folks. Then there were several Howell Co. folks that married into my Elledge family. These families are: Willis, Spradlin, Woodworth, McCall, Barton, Watson, and Galloway again. Hopefully some of you can connect with these folks this time around. Most of the Elledge folks moved on to OK and TX. Only one Hankins family stayed in Koshkonong, Oregon Co., nearby. The others may have just dropped off the face of the earth. I am interested in any and all connections. I have information to share too! Thanks in advance! Jerry Johnston Scottsdale, AZ
