    1. Re: [MO-OREGON-HISTORY] ROLL CALL Looney, Stubblefield, McDaniel
    2. Our brick wall is as follows: Joseph LOONEY b. ca 1972, d. 6 Dec 1822, m. Thena STUBBLEFIELD daughter of William and Elizabeth McDANIEL STUBBLEFIELD. Researchers have attached this Joseph LOONEY to Jonathan and Jane HARBISON LOONEY. There is not one shred of evidence to back this up and I have corresponded with multiple Harbison descendents and not one can confirm any children survived to adulthood from this couple So - we need to start where we know we have records to back up this line - from Joseph and Thena STUBBLEFIELD LOONEY. When Joseph LOONEY died, Thena brothers were assigned as guardians of the 4 children, William S, Margaret, Jonathan and Dorcas. Coleman STUBBLEFIELD was assigned as guardian of Dorcas and Jonathan LOONEY by the court until 1842. Fielding STUBBLEFIELD was apparently assigned as guardian of Wm and Margaret LOONEY . Joseph and Thena STUBBLEFIELD LOONEY had four children, William S. m. Cloah DAVIS, Margaret (Peggy) m. Clinton STUBBLEFIELD, Jonathan m. Anna (Annie?) Jane JONES who later married James M. BLAIR (and had a child, Mahala b. 14 Feb 1862 ), and Dorcas m. William NETTLES. (We have found descendents of all but Dorcas) We do not have a copy of Anna Jane Jones and Jonathan LOONEY's marriage license. Jonathan's dates are accepted as b. 24 Sept 1820, d. 24 Feb 1858. As we know it, these are correct: After Joseph and Thena STUBBLEFIELD LOONEY - beginning next generation - Jonathan LOONEY b. 1820, and Anna J. Jones LOONEY had 8 children, Charity, Joseph, Thena , Matilda A. , Isham Jones, William S., Martha E. and Rhoda (m. James A. Smith). Bill's ancestor is this Joseph who m. Mary Jane STUBBLEFIELD, cousin, and daughter of Absolum W. STUBBLEFIELD and Sarah CANARD. Joseph LOONEY b. 4 Mar 1846, d. 29 Sept 1887,and Mary Jane STUBBLEFIELD LOONEY had 8 children: Margaret V., Theney Elizabeth (Bill's grandmother), Cynthia, Martha A. "Myrtle", Franklin L., William S. "Billy", Jefferson Joseph, Rhoda Arzilla. Thena E. LOONEY m. John Robert CLINGING and moved their family to Weeletka, OK area early 1900s, along with some of Thena's siblings and at least one STUBBLEFIELD relative. We are still looking for a direct line LOONEY DNA donor from this Joseph/Thena STUBBLEFIELD LOONEY line. We would pay the fees for the DNA testing. Husband, Bill FRY, is 2 females off the line and unable to provide the DNA.
