    1. [MO-OREGON-HISTORY] Re: William D.M. SCONCE in 1920 AR census
    2. Lanita Sconce Miller
    3. Sharon, So, am I to understand that there was no William SCONCE at all in AR in 1920? It will be AR, and not MO, I think, since he was in 1910 Randolph Co., AR census...[you've hit the 3 MO counties that I would have checked just by chance].... Just want to make clear that there is no William SCONCE in Arkansas at all in 1920... he would be in his 50's.... if he doesn't show up, then the one in CA that I have HAS to be him.. in 1945, he was listed in my ggrandfather's obit, as living in CA.. so, know he lived longer than 1910. Thanks for checking! Lanita

    3. Lanita, Checked AR and MO 1920 censuses on Ancestry.com by exact name and soundex, but no William Sconce. Actually, MO had over 2000 soundex names, so I only checked Oregon, Howell, and Ripley counties. Any others in MO you would like to check by soundex? 3. Just wanted to throw out a few names of people i've traced to Missouri. They are mainly in Newton & Dade co. but some I haven't been able to find yet. Georgie (a) Pharris Born in Missouri. Harry H. Lindley B: Missouri Louella Burton Dau of Thomas Burton and Sarah Savanna Lee of Tennessee and Kentucky respectively (Louella was born in Missouri) I belive that perhaps Georgie's mother is Josephine Pharris. the birth place and date of death matches up with a census and a photo of a tombstone for Pharris Father and Mother. No first names. Anyway.. I know this is just kinda shot in the dark stuff thrown out there. But just in case :) I have Harry and Georgie on the 1920 and 1930 Census for Chelsea Ok. Also Louella Burton with her Father and mother and brother on the 1920 Census for McDonald Co, Erie twp in 1920, along with her sister and her husband Otto O. Jones and Alma E Burton-Jones in McDonald Co,, Erie twp 1920, and in 1930 with their daughter Hildred in Neosho, Newton twp. thanks :) Rachell

    3. When in Missouri this summer, I cam across this marriage record: Benjamin WOFFORD married Elizabeth HELMS 30 Oct. 1859 by Charles C. Davis DD, recorded Nov. 7, 1859 (page unnumbered, 336 if numbering had continues) I didn't have a chance to follow up on this at that time. Can anyone find the 1860 census record for this Benjamin and his family? Might anyone be able to identify parents for either Elizabeth or Benjamin? Thanks for any help anyone can give. 3. Hello all, was just passed on some new information to try for my arnold family tree. Wanted to see if anyone could shed any light on this. My gg grandfather was john henry arnold born 7-8-1869 in arkansas but before his first birthday he is found on the 1870 shannon co. missouri census living with elijah bates and family. the story is that after he was born he and his parents moved to missouri. I have been told his mother's name was emma bullard. after getting to missouri, john henry's father went with his parents and family to texas. Emma didnt want to go so she stayed in missouri, and I assume they got divorced, maybe never married? she married again to a man named reynolds or mcreynolds. I was just told that john henry's dad's name might have been jack arnold or as he was known by "one legged jack" was just curious as to if anyone had any information about jack or if it struck any cords with anyone. thanks for reading. I would appreciate any help anyone could give me. I ! am having a real hard time with my arnold family tree. thanks again jennifer

    3. Hi Lanita, If you go to this link on "First Families of America" site you will find my ancestor David Mansfield listed. This is my mother's line of Mansfields from Weakley Co., TN. It was a lot of work to do this, but worth every minute. :-) http://www.linkline.com/personal/xymox/roh/mansfeld.htm I didn't know until much later that David Mansfield is listed as "American Pioneer" in the earliest VA census & in the FTW census CDs. I've spent a lot of time across the "Big Pond" documenting David in England and Wales. Everyone should check out the site to see if your family name is there. 3. I have had a break through in my Henson/Robertson Families. Through tracking down Census info, I've linked my William Thomas Henson to his parents, Thomas and Comfort Henson who were in Laclede Co. MO I don't have anything beyond Thomas or Comfort at this point.. believe that thomas' parents MAY be Joshuah and Dolly Henson. On the Oregon, co frount. I did find out that my H.D. Robertson ( who I KNOW was in Oregon Co, Alton MO between 1873-1891 for sure) was born in Tennessee. His wife is still unknown, but from census records I found that she was born in Missouri. Not much news.. but a little news. Just thought i'd throw that out and see if that sparks any clues in anyone :) Rachell
