Family Chronicle this month talks about Marriage License Applications "a standard form that local governments began requiring in the late 1800's. (A few states have records dating back to the 1700s.) ........" Can any of you tell me anything about these in Missouri? Thanks a bunch, Joan Griffin Rusk Cherish each day and laugh a lot.
Peggy, can I ask for one more? What about Arah DANIELS in the same 1930 Kent Co., MI census? Lanita
Peggy, Thanks so much for the lookup... the more we find, the more questions we have! It explains another thing that I found that didn't make sense at the time. This Henry Ford HAS to be a 2nd marriage... Am I reading the census right? Is she 76 or 71? And is he 48 or 43? Which figures are the ages, and what is the other figure? Thanks so much for this help!! Lanita

If so, is there a way that I can have a lookup, please? I am looking for 1920 and 1930 Kent Co., MI Census lookup for: Henry FORD.. wife is Sadie. No idea how old Henry would be, but Sadie is about 61 in 1930. Thank you for any help! Lanita

Hey DETHROW kin, Just got Sadie ELLIOTT FORD's obit [Phebe ELLIOTT DETHROW's sister].. It reads: "FORD Mrs. Sadie FORD, aged 70, of 11 Indiana-av., S.W., passed away Thursday morning at Doyle sanitarium. She is survived by her husband, Henry FORD; one daughter, Mrs. Henry FINNER of Amelia, VA., and one son, Arah Daniels. The body was removed to the Workman Funeral Home. Funeral announcement later. Grand Rapids Press Grand Rapids, MI 11 May 1939" How do we know this is our PHEBE ELLIOTT DETHROW's sister? Because Phebe's obit says that she had one sister, Sadie, of Grand Rapids, MI. [You will recall that Phebe Elliott DETHROW was the wife of Elias Samuel DETHROW] Now, I'm hot on the trail towards Virginia!! Lanita
Lanita, I have the Fulton County Cemetery book that has the Sturgeon Cemetery listed in it. If anyone needs lookups in this cemetery book just let me know. Cathy
Jennie, There is no info on Perry Cemetery that suggest that it was once Prewitt Cem. The Sharp Co. website webmaster is Gary Wiles. He can be reached at: wilesgm@hotmail.com Also, Sherry Henson transcribed Perry Cemetery online. The cemetery can be found here: http://www.rootsweb.com/~arsharp/cemperryNS.htm Sharp Co., AR cemeteries online can be found here: http://www.rootsweb.com/~arsharp/cemetery.htm Hope this helps, Lanita
Cathy, No, I don't have family in Sturgeon Cem. I had someone email me saying that they thought it was in Oregon Co. Since it was not listed in the Cem. book, thought I'd just try the List. Thanks so much for the reply. Have passed it on to the person interested in the cemetery. Lanita
The 1880 Census is on Family Search (LDS site). That's how I found the change in name from Abner to Absolem. It was bad enough with nicknames and initials. Loretta
Lanita, The Sturgeon Cemetery is in Fulton County, AR. A lot of my family is there. It's between Mammoth Springs and Fryatt. Do you have family there? I have pictures of this cemetery. Cathy
