Happy New Year Everybody!! For those of you who are not out partying, how about we have a good Roll Call.. it's been several months, and the List has been way too quiet. I am working on my ROSSELL, ELLIOTT, SUPLER and KIRK lines frantically so that I will have these families printed out for a great aunt who will turn 100 next month.. I'm getting pictures of tombstones and Wills right and left... trying to get it all together... And, yes, DETHROW cousins, I will have a set for all for the Dethrow Reunion in 2004! Am also working on my next BENNETT Reunion...scheduled for Memorial Day Saturday in Apache, OK in 2003!!.. Lots of stuff happening, genealogy wise, and yet, I miss seeing you all and your postings!! SOOO... let's do the Roll Call.. tell us what you are working on, what you are struggling with, whatever you want to share! Have you had a success? Share it! Have questions you're afraid to ask... .ASK away!! Got a new website? Tell us about it!! What lines are you researching? Just a reminder.. generally too much information has a tendancy to get confusing to those of us not connected to your line.. so, put it short, direct, and what it is you are needing or researching! Along with the above surnames that are not from this area, I am searching for descendants of William Daniel Mariott SCONCE and his 2nd wife, Mamie/Marie BOOTH {Booth was a married name, unsure what her maiden name was]. These two married in Randolph Co., AR, and then moved to Stockton, San Joaquin County, California, by the 1920 Census.. I've got his obit, and have joined the county mailing list and posted messages on the board, but I am stumped on how to find descendants since he apparently had all daughters... I'm open to any ideas! What about you all?? Lanita
Thanks alot, Betty!! Appreciate it! Have a great Christmas everybody!! Lanita
You'd think since it is Cmas Eve, one wouldn't be doing genealogy!..... WRONG!!! Does anybody have the 1860 Randolph Co., AR census.. am needing a look up for: Elias H. DUBOISE... there are 2.. 1 is about 60 years old.. that's the one I need.. although if both are there, I'll take the other too. I am also interested in marriage lookup in Randolph Co. for the above Elias' daughter, Amanda Jane DUBOISE who married Wm. ARNOLD. Best guess is between 1846-1849. Thanks for any help... and MERRY CHRISTMAS, EVERYBODY!! Thanks for being the best list around!! Lanita

Hi Gang, I have just received a nice little Cmas gift. I am in the process of putting a booklet together on my ELLIOTTs, for a great aunt who will turn 100 in January.. Don¹t know if you all realize this or not, so thought I would share this little tidbit for you to store for some future date you might need it. When you find an ancestor buried in a National Cemetery, sometimes [depending upon the cemetery], they will take a picture of the stone, and email you the picture... It has happened twice for me... Once for one in Memphis National, and just today, for one I just discovered who is buried in Nashville National Cemetery. If the cemetery themselves will not send you an email pic, you might be able to get a volunteer on the RANDOM ACTS OF KINDNESS site who has a volunteer for that county.. It is a great thing to have!! Just thought Id pass this word along in case there are those who did not know. Happy Holidays everybody! Lanita

Forgive my posting being non-genealogy, but some of you have been offering your support and prayers for us. Just to let you know, that my husband, John, got a job today. He will start Dec. 30... Lacking 1 day being 5 months without a job. So, for you who believe as we do, now would be a good time to praise the Lord!! Hoping all of your holidays are as blessed as ours. Thanks to all for your love, concern, prayers and comforting words. MERRY CHRISTMAS! Lanita
Hello, On the ILL. state marraige index there are 4 Nathaniel Nowlin and here are who they married and when I am looking for the one that had a brother James Nowlin b. 1819. Ill one of these also had a father Nathaniel Nowlin. Reavis, Sarah Fayette 1/23/1846 Sidwell, Rebecca " 3/04/1833 Freels, Elizabeth " 5/28/1846 Moore, Susannah De Witt 5/25/1848 If you have any information on these Nowlins I would like to here from you. If nothing else to be able to cross that one off. Thanks, Barbara eor@saber.net
Hello, Alot of the MO. Rains, Gain, Strains, Lanes, Tabor and such are in the same families in MO. as the Nolan (Nowlin) and Roam, (Rohm, Rome) they are with the Ledbetter. The Roams had a book made where alot of these are listed. Some are in together in Mo. then as you go back farther you find different line with either the Nowlin ILL. or Rohm TN. Just wonder if anyone has found any Lindley's in Missouri that link to mine. I'm trying to find the parents of Harry H. Lindley B: 1858 in MO d: 1931 in Chelsea OK. He married Georgia Pharris May 11, 1892 in Newton Co. MO. They then moved to Indian Territory OK (later Rogers Co, Chelsea twp) I can't find Harry with his parents anywhere. Sending in for his death cert today in hopes of being able to get parent names. in an biography on Josephine Virgin-Pharris (mother of Georgia) it is said that Josephine went to stay with Georgia and Harry after her husbands death (Doctor Houston Pharris of Racine, Newton Co MO) Harry Lindley made a statement about being proud of his Indian blood, to which Josephine said "then why didn't you marry an old squaw and leave my daughter alone..." (she evidentally was quite a fireball!) so anyway.. that makes me assume that there was native american blood on Harry's line, most likely on his maternal line since Lindley's can be traced pretty much straight back to Europe if you know what line you are looking for. anyway.. if anyone runs across this group, i'd much appreciate it. the family is primarily in the Newton and McDonald Co area of MO. On the 1860 Wayne Co. census there is a Henry Leach that married a Lucy Bishop in that census year dose anyone have the parents names on Henry Leach? Also there was a Joseph Leach on the 1830 Wayne Co Mo. census dose anyone have this family and can give me the names of his wife and children? Thanks, Barbara eor@saber.net
Hello, I have 3 orphans of Leach in Wayne Co. MO. and need your help out there. ON the census for Wayne Co. Mo. 1830 there is only 1 Leach and this is Joseph. On the 1940 there are none. Then on the 1850 there seem to be a few. My Leach are 1 of the orphans on the 1850 census. I think a family of Leach moved into Wayne Co. Mo. If you have Leach from Wayne Co. MO. in 1850 could you send me that information as I am trying to find the parents of my ggrandfather William R. Leach. Thanks so much for your help, Barbara eor@saber.net
