Related names: Orrell, Fouts. **Oregon County, could be Shannon County, MO or Randolph County, AR, or somewhere on the planet-- --MOORE, John, of course. Killed c 1864. Father of Joe/Josephus. (Not the ones on the 1860 Oregon County census.) May be the one from Randolph County, AR, who married Sarah McCAULEY, although the death certificate for son Joe Moore says it was Mary JOHNSON. Family lore says he was killed by raiders who thought he had money because he owned a brick home. Were there brick homes in the area at the time of the Civil War? --MOORE, Joe/Josephus, born Mar 6, 1862, probably in the vicinity of Oregon County. Haven't found him on any census before 1910. Daughters were born in 1890s in Jobe, MO area. --HAWS/HAUS. Mary Lucinda, wife of Joe, died 1897, Jobe, Oregon County, MO. Would there be newspaper accounts of John Moore's murder? of Mary Lucinda Haws Moore's death? If anyone can find such a newspaper story, bible record, or a land record for John, I would be SO-O-O HAPPY! Oregon County and the Moore/Haws family are synonymous with brick wall for me! Someone gave me information about Moore/McCauley a few months ago, right before my mom got sick and my genealogy was mostly put on hold. I lost some e-mails around that time and I can't remember who it was who helped me. If you're out there, Genealogy Angel, thank you. I would appreciate your help again. Judy

    3. Okay, you guys.. I need to pick your brains.. What do you know about Land Records? I found one online and it says... Nettles late a Private in Ramsey Compay of the first Regiment of Riflemen a certain tract of land containing One hundred Sixty acres being......." [describes where] NOW, I take it that this land was given to Solomon NETTLES for his army service? Does this mean that he died in the war? OR does this mean that he got the land, and then died, and the heirs are taking the land? Who knows about this? Added note about Mary Jane: No Warrens listed in the 1850 or 1860 Oregon Co. Census. Three Warren families listed in 1870 Census, but they look to be the ages of Mary's brothers, and not her parents. In fact, one is Smith WARREN household, Harve's sister's home. 1870 Oregon Co., MO Census: 1880 Oregon Co., MO Census: 1900 Oregon Co., MO Census: Added note: I'm not sure I believe this is correct on Nancy having only 1 child. Census prove otherwise, unless Nancy was 2nd wife of Daniel Sr. What are the chances of 2 women married to the same man, having the same birth states listed for themselves, their father and their mother being the same?? Very slim, I would think. That's why I think he [Dan. Sr.] was only married once. 1910 Oregon Co., MO Census: Harve is not listed in the 1920 Census, although he should have been. Mary Jane is not listed as well. They had the following children: 11 i. Enoch (1866-1944) 12 ii. George W. (1870-1956) 13 iii. Nancy M. (1872-1943) 14 iv. Lucy P (1872-) 15 v. 1. [MO-OREGON-HISTORY] JONES/DEAN Family of Shannon County
    2. Hi List, Does anyone here have Shannon Co. Cemetery records?  I'm looking for Morgan DEAN & his wife, Sarah A. DEAN.  The 1880 census has them in Birch Tree.  I believe they probably died & are buried in Shannon Co.  Does anyone have access to Shannon Co. marriage records?  Looking for marriage of John A. JONES & Mary Elizabeth DEAN.  This should be in the 1860-1866 timeframe.  If anyone has connections to the DEAN family of Shannon Co., I'd love to hear from you.  Thanks so much, Carlene Missouri Ozarks

    1. [MO-OREGON-HISTORY] ROLL CALL - MORRIS
    2. The Marx Family
    3. I am currently trying to locate the following man: Byrd S. Morris. He was listed in the 1900 census in Baxter Co., AR, age 19, born in MO, living with his father, John S. Morris. John and his wife and step-daughter and her family went on to Salem, Fulton, AR where they remained in the 1910 and 1920 censuses. In 1880, John S. was in Terre Haute, Vigo, IN living with his wife Florence A, age 20, born IL. Florence was not the one to whom he was married in 1900 so I am assuming she died. I am also assuming Byrd was her son and was born after the 1880 census and possibly in MO since John moved to MO sometime after 1880 and was enumerated in the 1890 special veterans census in Oregon County, MO. Any thoughts, suggestions or information would be greatly appreciated. One last item - I ordered a death certificate from Clark Co.,Arkansas for a Byrd Morris but the data was all wrong. It was not the Byrd I am looking for. Catherine lanita miller wrote: > It's been a while, so let's have a ROLL CALL, and see if we can get > some action going on the List..
