It is believed Elias Pinkney Wooldridge was her only child. In 1855 William married a Thornbury. 3. Kara, I wish I could tell you who my SIMMONS are. All I know is that my great grandmother was Mary SIMMONS. Her husband called her Lou. We think she was from Oregon County. She was born about 1865, and she married Huston LAWSON in 1881 in Clay County, Arkansas. Either they were divorced, or he died, because she married my grandfather, William Henry TARLTON in 1887. My grandmother said that Mary was raised by a family named BUCHANAN, but we aren't certain about that. My grandmother mentioned two uncles, Abe SIMMONS and Beau SIMMONS. They could possible have been great uncles. My great grandfather, William Henry TARLTON, was the son of Mary Ann (Polly) BUCHANAN. She was born in 1840. I think that Polly was the daughter of David and Elizabeth BUCHANAN. After Polly's death, my great grandfather and some of his siblings lived with her brother, David BUCHANAN in Oregon County. Does any of this sound familiar to you? 3. In response to an earlier message posted by Perry Foley regarding the destruction of Beauvoir, the home of Jefferson Davis, I found this message posted at the Sun Herald's forum: Biloxi Damage Reports - Beauvoir seems to be still standing From: brandib Sep-1 11:59 pm To: ALL (1 of 3) 8728.1 After much research and many phone calls, Beauvoir seems to be still standing. It is badly damaged, the porch is gone, windows & shutters are gone, but the house is still there. This is from the National Trust for Historic Preservation. It will take work to bring it back to its full glory, but at least its not gone. It appears that the Confederate Museum is gone though. All of Georgia's thoughts & prayers are with ya'll. If we can do ANYTHING at all please just say the word. I am in Savannah and we have been so lucky all these years. We just want to do anything we can. God Bless, Brandi

    3. Hi Sharon, That Mary doesn't sound familiar but I don't have a whole lot on my Sammons side, they were quit elusive. I have a John Sammons Jr. who married Delilah Downey who either divorced or left John and married Elias Buchanan. As Delilah was married to Elias in 1871. She married John Jr. in 1860 3 May, Randolph Co. Ark. They had one son, John H. Sammons in 1868. They could of had more but I don't know. Delilah did have 2 more with Elias Buchanan. Alice P. and Louisa B. Buchanan 1874 and 1876. I know that the Sammons (most) didn't read or write and that is why the name was changed around so many times. No matter how indirect they are in my line, I'm always hoping it will bring me closer to another relative. Oh, and Delilah was born in 1841, John Jr. 1831. Thanks, Kara Kara S.- Enjoying the genealogy puzzle!
