    2. Lanita Sconce Smith
    3. Any CREWS and CUSTER researchers on this list? I have a soldier in Iraq who is interested in family history. I have given him the census, marriages, cemetery info, etc., but I'm sure that he would love to hear from a cousin. He is John E., son of Neil CREWS, grandson of Dewey and Alma CREWS. His roots are from Oregon Co. If so, contact me and I'll give you his email address. Lanita

    1. [MO-OREGON-HISTORY] CareTaker of the Davis - Cain Cemetery & Funeral Homes...
    2. Hello All: I have been writing and sending information on my 3rd Gr-Granddad Fred C. Schulz. Requesting from Capitol in Little Rock, AR. Trying to find a Death Certificate on him, but I haven't been able to find one. He lived in Mammoth Spring, Fulton Co, AR, but was right on the line of Oregon Co. I have also wrote the Missouri Archives in Jefferson and they found nothing. Fred C. SCHULZ was born 22 Dec 1841 in Germany/Prussia. He dies 10 Sep 1928 in somewhere around Mammoth Spring, AR. He is buried in the Davis-Cain Cemetery in Oregon Co, MO. with his wife Thala/Thalia (HUMPHREYS) SCHULZ. I'm starting to think that he doesn't have a Death Certificate, but it could be a big help if I could find something. I have some questions: If the Missouri Archives couldn't find anything. Would the Alton Court House be the next place to Check? Also does anyone know the Caretakers of the Davis - Cain Cemetery? is there a Funeral Home in Fulton Co, AR or Oregon Co, MO, that's been around since 1928? I hope someone can help? 2. Kara, Thank you for correcting my error. The two marriage dates were over one another on two separate lines. I picked up the wrong year. 4 July 1867 is what the book says. Thanks again for your sharp eye. Nita Fry a message dated 1/16/2007 10:35:10 A.M. 3. Kara, Not sure which Isaac you're referring to. Isaac Job born about 1766 Augusta (now Warren Co) VA and who died Feb 24, 1815 from wounds at the Battle of New Orleans was s/o Samuel Job and Dorcas MacKay. He appears on a 1799 petition in Knox Co., TN, and on 1802 and 1803 Livingston Co., KY Tax List. Then he is on 1810 East Condoria Parish, LA census. Then we have his 1812 war records. *We do NOT have a wife for him and then nothing until his children start showing up in 1815-1820 Lawrence Co., AR area (or what was then Lawrence Co., AR) - today it is Oregon Co., MO - Randolph Co., AR border. You're right - again we have no spouse for the oldest son, Isaac Job Jr. Actually we're missing spouses for most all of the children and they all had to have married In what was then Lawrence Co., AR or Wayne Co., MO - later to be Ripley Co., MO, Randolph Co., AR and ORegon Co., MO. And they pretty much had to come from families that were in this area by 1815-1825 time frame - families that many of us are working on. 1. Re: [MO-OREGON-HISTORY] JOBE marriage
    2. Ann (Jobe) Brown
    3. I'm about 95% sure they are different people - probably first cousins to each other. Dorcas Job or Dorcas Jobe is a very COMMON name in the descendants of Samuel Job and Dorcas MacKay. And it is terrible that I've been researching the Job(e) line for almost 40 years now and the most questions are on my own Isaac Job and his brother, Jacob Job who married Martha Corder. For Jacob and Martha, we only have one proven child, Ruth (Jobe) Benjamin. I'm sure that there were more. Then for my Own Isaac Job(e), there are two sons who literally disappear. There is this Jacob Job 1815 -Lawrence Co., Arkansas Tax List 1816 -Lawrence Co., Ark Tax List *What happened to him after this and did he marry and have a family? And there is Caleb Job 1822 - sent by Lanita -All of these are 'receipts' were stampled to the Robert McWILLIAMS probate packet --------------received from the Arkansas History Commission, Lawrence Co., AR, Loose Probate Bonds, Roll 78 "Twelve months after date I promis to pay the administrators of Joseph Looney Dec. Eighteen dollars thirty seven & a half cents for value recd This 21st day of Dec 1822 signed by: Robert McWilliams CALEB JOBE Surety for Robert McWilliams" ---------- 1827 -Nov 11, Isaac Job and Caleb Job were witnesses to the will of James Bellah ---------- l827 - Lawrence Co, Arkansas- Listed as Security BELLAH, James, deceased. Bond of Charles HATCHER and John HUDSON, executors of will, December 1, 1827. Securities: Isaac JOBE, Caleb JOBE. 1829 -Lawrence Co, Arkansas Tax List, p. AR005 (Davidson Township) 1830 Lawrence Co, Arkansas Census 1831 -Izard Co, Arkansas Tax List, p. AR004 (Arkansas Territory-Randolph) *WE have nothing to actually prove his children. For the other sons of Isaac, we have Isaac Jr (who is still full of questions), Samuel (whose line is much better though we're still missing a son and a daughter born 1825-1830 who are not on the 1840 census and MY Eli B., thanks to probate and estate records is pretty concrete. Thank the Lord for those probate and estate records. Now I'm pretty sure that Dorcas Jobe who married Abner Bailey was a son of Isaac Senior and a sister to the ones mentioned above - Isaac Jr, Samuel, Eli B., Jacob and Caleb. However, we cannot rule out that she could possible be a d/o Jacob Jobe and Martha Corder. Either way, she would still be a granddaughter of Samuel Job and Dorcas MacKay. 2. Some of you already have the following information, or perhaps it doesn't relate but will offer anyway. Since this is not husband Bill's direct line, we do not have much on the Baileys. However, in Gyn Trimble's book, he notes: Michael Looney m. #2, Artemicia (Artie) Jobe Bailey Sammons on 4 July 1849 in Oregon Co., MO. Artie, born 16 March 1833 in Washington Co., MO, was the daughter of Abner and Dorcas Jobe Bailey who was born in TN in 1803. Daughter Artie was previously married to James Sammons in Randolph Co., AR. Bill has a Jonathan Looney ancestor born in Randolph Co., AR, 4 Sep 1820, whose sibling Docus/Dorcas Looney, m. Wm. Nettles 3 Nov. 1842. These are the only Dorcas' we have in our book. Nita Fry In a message dated 1/15/2007 9:26:04 P.M.
