    2. Hi Carline my Susan Roberts born 1842 married John Estes in 1860 i believe and i have a cow story where someone stole her cow and that was 1866. i have old papers(hear say) that Susan was a ophran and that fits with her mother dieing in 1842 maybe childbirth and her father died in 1848,she was living with older sister Matilda Roberts Thomas, i haven,t been able to prove that Alexander Roberts is her father yet,Susan was just married once to John Estes and she was young then,Martha Thomas was John first wife and she died while Susan was takeing care of her and babys,so Susan moved in with John.i,am wondering if there is a connection there to John Thomas??since Martha was also born in Tn.in 1824 and John Thomas was also born in Tn. would like to be able to prove all or some of this, mariesweet@aol.com

    3. Lanita, Just ribbin' you a little. I know how generous you have been with research for me and I really appreciate it. I have only recently started researching the Roach family-grandparents and mother of Mary Jane Bearden Shurron; my father's grandmother. It just didn't click that these people actually all moved to either Oregon County or northern Arkansas. I knew that Julia Ann Roach Bearden's husband died and she brought the kids to Oregon County, but didn't know that her brother and widowed mother were already down there. Now I find that there was a lot of family there. Wish I could fall into history of the Shurron people so easily. Thanks again for the help. I just don't have time to go through all the SMITHS in ten buck two, ID in 1920 census. Everything else I can help you unless there's too many to list in the cemeteries or History Book. Hope this helps! Lanita I think my family tree is a few branches short of full bloom. ------------------------------- To unsubscribe from the list, please send an email to MO-OREGON-HISTORY-request@rootsweb.com with the word 'unsubscribe' without the quotes in the subject and the body of the message

    2. Marie, This is what the Oregon County History Book states on page 263: "Susan was born in 1842. It is thought she married David Hill November 1, 1866, in Texas County." Perhaps this was after the Estes marriage? I have no further info on Susan, but would love to learn more. Carlene Missouri Ozarks

    2. Ann, I would appreciate any info on John Thomas & Matilda Roberts. I have nothing beyond their marriage date. I have 9 children listed for Alexander Roberts and Polly Drummond. Have varying amounts of info on each. My direct line is thru their daughter, Rebecca, and Simpson Couch. I'm sure you have most of that. Wish I had old pictures to share. I also have Alexander Roberts married to Martha Ellen Pool with 3 children, but have been unable to find any details on Martha or any of the children. I would certainly like to learn more about this Roberts family. Carlene Missouri Ozarks

History Book Oregon Co. Marriage listings for years 1845-1890 I will NOT look up ALL SMITHS, etc., so those requests will be ignored. 3. Lanita, Wow, you're being tough this time. I have just found out that my ROACH and Bearden family moved to Oregon Co, MO and Fulton Co., AR. I don't have first names yet. Are there ROACH names listed in the Oregon County History book? I think the people showed up in the 1870s or early 1880s. They came from Illinois. I already have the Bearden marriages that you found before, but wonder if there are any ROACH marriages. No need to take time to list them, just a yes or no on either. I can get the book listings later. Yes, you can ignore this if you want, but maybe somebody would be interested or related to these families. 1. Re: [MO-OREGON-HISTORY] Bessie Blankenship
    2. Gene Phillips
    3. I don't have her maiden name, her middle name is Elizabeth. The exact marriage date of Nancy and Thomas was 25 Mar 1860. I believe that came from Oregon County Marriage records. I got most of my Blankenship information before I had a computer crash and had to reconstruct my data from a GEDCOM. My line is Christena Blankenship, sister of Nancy J. I have a probate record of Gilbert Blankenship that lists the heirs of Gilbert and Nancy. Coincidentally, the Justice of the Peace that coincided at the Probate was Christena's husband Benjamin Carroll Phillips. They were my gg-grandparents. I have a couple of marriage licenses for his children that he performed as JP. It appears that Gilbert died without a will and the court was needed to divide his property which amounted to 440 acres in Oregon County. From reading the probate it appears that since BC Phillips was the judge, Christena and him did not receive a share, but Christena's share went to their children. Ed Grooms is the source of most of my Blankenship information. He found the probate record while researching Blankenships in Oregon County courthouse. He is a descendant of BC Phillips and his 2nd wife, Margaret Risenhoover through his father. He is related to Blankenships through his mother. 3. The Crews family has married into my Blankenship family over the years. Most are fairly distantly related to me, but hopefully, some of them will contact him. I would be glad to correspond with him, please send me his address. I should be able to dig out several Oregon County Crews from my Blankenship family tree. (No pun intended). Also, if memory serves me right, there are Crews buried with my Blankenship ancestors at the Norman Church Cemetery in Oregon county outside of Couch, MO. Gene Phillips and Ed Grooms may have info that can help him too.
