I don't think I paid anything to submit my family in 2001 except to buy the book which is a wonderful book, it has 316 pages and the cost was somewhere around $50.00 Do you remember any more details Betty?
I have a copy of the History and Families of Randolph County Arkansas The Historical Society did this book in 2000 and it finally got printed in 2001 due to several delays This is probably the book we are talking about Wilma
What's the cost for submitting more than one bio? Lanita
How big is the book, is it still in print and what is the cost (or was the cost)? Pat----- who just found that she has family in Randolph county. I really have no idea, but it is possible. The library could not tell me how old Book I is or when it was produced. I found this irritating since the newspaper article lead one to believe that they would be knowledgeable and helpful. They also said that one had to appear at the library to purchase, and that leaves the "out of state people" out of the loop. I think this is bad business. -----Original Message----- From: mo-oregon-history-bounces@rootsweb.com [mailto:mo-oregon-history-bounces@rootsweb.com] On Behalf Of PAT MILLER Sent: Friday, January 26, 2007 4:07 PM To: mo-oregon-history@rootsweb.com Subject: Re: [MO-OREGON-HISTORY] Randolph County History Book There are three offers of CD's on Ebay for under $15 titled Randolph County, AR History. Pat, the 1946 book, The History or Randolph County, was published by Lawrence Dalton. A very good book. Also, there was a wonderful Families & History book published in 1992 by Regina Cook and I do know that there are no longer any of those available. I feel very fortunate to have one of them in my collection of books. This upcoming Randolph Co Families & History book (book 2 as it is being called) which has apparently been in the making since some time in 2006, seems to keep being extended and extended (I noticed in the paper that it has been extended again until 15 Feb) The first book (book 1 as it is called) was just published in 2001. I don't understand 2 books so close together and especially by the same person. As I recall there were terrible problems with the first one. Since I no longer live in Pocahontas I don't know much about this newest one other than the few little tidbits that I read in the paper about it being extended and extended, which would indicate that not many submissions are coming forward. The old book was printed in 1946 and says the publisher was local. I found it a under $9 with shipping of $5 on another books site. So, it is out there for the buying if you want it. If you want it printed, there was one that would do a print on demand for about $40 in hard back and $17 for paper back. I think I am going to check the local library or library loan before I spend money on it. Pat, Claudette Hackworth <chackworth@fcb-online.com> wrote: I really have no idea, but it is possible.
