It should be a link you can click that will let you 'accept' the invitation to join the new group. You may need to check your spam folder as I can't say when such will be delivered. If you don't find an invitation in your email you may also go to this site - https://groups.io/g/MO-JEFFERSON-CITY and select Join Group. Of course, folks may still post to this list through 3/1. 3. Here is a message we just received from RootsWeb: Beginning March 2nd, 2020 the Mailing Lists functionality on RootsWeb will be discontinued. Users will no longer be able to send outgoing emails or accept incoming emails.  Additionally, administration tools will no longer be available to list administrators and mailing lists will be put into an archival state. Administrators may save the emails in their list prior to March 2nd. After that, mailing list archives will remain available and searchable on RootsWeb. As an alternative to RootsWeb Mailing Lists, Ancestry message boards are a great option to network with others in the genealogy community. Message boards are available for free with an Ancestry registered account. Thank you for being part of the RootsWeb family and contributing to this community. Sincerely, The RootsWeb team I plan to ask the administrator of this list for access to the list of subscribed e-mails.  If I obtain that, then it would be possible to migrate this list to a site like Group.IO: https://groups.io/ or another platform. Given that this list has been quiet for ages, I don't think it is worth doing, and I don't plan to do that.  But I want to offer the possibility to others. Mike F Houston, TX

    1. [MO-JEFFERSON-CITY] Shepherd Day
    2. Diana Ensign
    3. I am trying to learn information about Shepherd Day. He might be my great-grandfather. I was givin the following informtion about Shepherd. "Town: Horine, Pevely, Hanover Missouri.  He owned 80 acres in Township 40 Range 3 Section 18 E1/2/SE quarter.  This is in 1876 and is 1 mile west of Big River.  Missouri mining owns 555+ acres to the north adjoining so this may be investment property as there are no houses on it. T40 R3 S18 is at the intersecton of Hwy WW and Brown Ford Road. About 6 miles west of DeSota."   I have information about my great-grandfather Eli Shep Day. The ealiest census I have of him is in 1900 - with E Shepherd Day, Mill Spring, Wayne, MO   I could not find Eli in the 1870 or 1880 census.  He was born Feb 16 1875 and died jan 23 1920. He married Barbara Ellen Boyer Day.  I do not have a copy of their marriage, but believe they married sometime between 1880-1882 when their first child was born  Clarence Edward Day, b. 4 Aug 1882, Butler County Missouri.   I was told about the above Shepherd Day in 1876 owning property and he seemed to be a posibility.  If you can be of any help with informaton about him, I'd appreciate the help.  Thank you, Diana from Illinois

    1. [MO-JEFFERSON-CITY] Korn/Corn Family 218 Center St
    2. These folks lived in Jefferson City, Mo. The houses located at 218 center street and also next door were built by my grandfather and great grandfather. Also, at one time my great grandfather was a guard at the prison while my grandfather was either an inmate at the prison or the hospital. The information I'm seeking is on my great, great grandfather and his father. I'm hoping for some help. I'm looking for Obit, death, Marriage records. I have been to LDS in Salt Lake, they were very helpful. I'm not finding it on the Mo. site, which I think is the best state site I've seen. I know a lot of things are misspelled and have checked according to first initials when I can. But I can't find the information I seek. I hope that with one of these records I can track other family. Nancy has been a great help in the past and for that I would like to say again Thank You. I guess what I'm really saying is- I'm not looking for help because I'm lazy, I just can't find it. Let me start that according to census records in 1860 my grandfathers who were spelling their name Korn as Corn both either married/remarried within the year. So, I'm guessing the marriages could have occurred 1859. But again that's on the census. I know from researching people sometimes lied about when or if their were married. But, this means that between 1850 and 1860 something happened to Johann's first wife, Margaret born 1802 and a son, John 1842 because neither one can be found in 1860. My great, great, great, grandfather died April 12, 1879 according to ancestry.com. This information it states, comes from the Jefferson City Daily Tribune. The newspaper is not on line. The information I have is . John Nickolas Corn/Korn Born 1785- Germany Died 1879- Jefferson City Mo In 1850, Johann was married to Margaret(1802-????) and spelling his name Corn. I don't know what happened to her or their son John (1842-???). By 1860 Johann is married to Verina and has a new son. Also, from ancestry is a date for my great, great, grandfather death, February 14, 1886. It says that information came from the Jefferson City Post Tribune 7 January 1924 to 31 December 1930. The information I have is. Wolfgang Corn/Korn Born 1825-Germany Died 1886- Jefferson City, Mo Married Rosina Schneider sometime in 1859-1860 Again, any information/ help is appreciated. We know little else of Harry except that he is listed on the Nova Scotia 1901 Census with his mother and 3 siblings, Mary V, Earl G. Augustus, and Dean Thomas. Our Harry was born about 1891-1897 in Nova Scotia to Dean Samuel TURNBULL and Anna MacDonnell. Harry MAY have been living in MO. with a family with the surname Stone. I'll follow any clue sent my way. Thank you in advance. Julia Moore
