Hello List, I am researching the unit known as Fremont's Body Guard, which was actually only a battalion of 4 companies. It was organzied out of men from St.Louis and Cincinnati, Ohio. If you are a descendant of a member of this unit, or know anything about this unit, please contact me. At the same time, I'm trying to find a list of Confederate soldiers (supposedly 1000 - 2000 men) who fought against Fremont's Body Guard in the battle or skirmish known as "Zagonyi's Charge" in Springfield, Mo on Oct.25, 1861.
