I am trying to locate information on my gggrandfather's CW unit, 27th MO, Company B. He enlisted in Princeton, MO and was discharged in about March of 1885 due to an injury and subsequent amputation of his leg on or about 2-14-1885 near Columbia, SC. I have his military record file from NARA, but can't quite ascertain what battle he was participating in when he was injured. Is there a book that details day to day events for the 27th Mo? I am also wondering what other battles he might have fought in prior to Feb of 1865 injury. And lastly, are there any photos and/or monuments to his regiment at various civil war sites? Thanks! JHS
