What are some books that give the truth or near truth that is known about the Civil War in Missouri/Kansas. I have relatives who fought on both sides from MO., KS. and KY. Some were brothers- one Union and one Confederate. My grandfather never talked about His father and I think it was because of the War. I never knew about his dad until my grandfather died. My grandmother left me a note with a Confederate two dollar bill (April 6th 1863) in it that told me it was part of his mustering out pay. Donna Jean of MN
