This brings to mind an old story I have heard, but it is probably a myth. Supposedly, the Confederate tombstones were pointed and the Union were rounded. The idea being the point was to make it uncomfortable for anyone sitting on the Confederate tombstones. Has anyone else heard this story? ----- Original Message ----- From: "Paul Davenport" <paulspic@yahoo.com> To: <MO-CW-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Wednesday, February 01, 2006 6:07 PM Subject: Re: [MO-CW] tombstones > Hello: For what its worth dept: > Flags are usually put on headstones by Vetrans Groups > Decoration Day.
